Capricorn Logistics, leading providers of integrated logistics solutions recently had its Conference in Goa. The Conference took place at Cidade de Goa Resort on 11th June 2010.
The main highlight of the Conference was the establishment of new Vision and Mission of Capricorn Logistics because of its growing business in global markets.

Capricorn Logistics, one of the leading Logistics and Supply Chain Service Providers was recently granted the Class A License by the Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) in Shanghai to operate as an International Freight Forwarder in the People's Republic of China (PRC). Capricorn Logistics already offers extensive coverage in China via its representative offices and full-fledged operations in Shenzhen and Hong Kong since 2008. Now, the Class A License will enable Capricorn to operate even more efficiently as a local logistics provider by controlling and managing all the logistics processes and activities within China that previously had to be outsourced to other local parties.
With the Class A License, Capricorn Logistics (Shanghai) Ltd will now be able to provide International Freight Forwarding (air, sea and land transportation) and other logistics and SCM services such as warehousing/3PL/4PL, packaging, distribution consolidation, customs clearance/ brokerage etc in China directly to its customers. Thus, Capricorn is better poised to strengthen its Asia-Pacific network and to reach out to its customers by leveraging the advantage of local knowledge and providing the best possible service coupled with highest level of supply chain expertise.
As Mr. Sheetal Shetty, Group Managing Director - Capricorn Logistics puts it, “Acquiring the Class A License in China reinforces Capricorn’s ability to fulfill the clients’ local logistics requirements through its well-established global network and its dedicated service.” He also added, “This license will establish Capricorn as one of the few Indian logistics entities with their own operational network in China, one of the largest economies of the world. The China organization of Capricorn will also help increase traffic to its North American, Germany and UAE counterparts. | Positive Packaging again chooses Capricorn for its 3PL Services. |

Positive Packaging, a division of Enpee Group and one of the leading converters of printed and laminated barrier-grade flexible packaging materials recently chose Capricorn Logistics (Dubai) for its 3PL services. Capricorn Logistics (Jebel Ali -UAE) signed the 3PL Contract with Positive Packaging United (M.E)Fzco in September, 2009 to provide complete logistics solutions and warehousing facility under one roof. Interestingly, the business association of Capricorn with Positive Packaging is not recent and dates back to 2002 when the first contract of business was signed between Capricorn Logistics Pvt.Ltd.(CLPL) and Positive Packaging Industries Limited (India) for providing freight forwarding services.
The business relationship was extended internationally in 2005 when Capricorn Logistics (Jebel Ali) signed the contract with Positive Packaging United (M.E.) for handling their import export logistics in UAE. Based on Capricorn’s past performance excellence, Positive Packaging United (M.E.) subsequently awarded the recent contract in 2009, whereby Capricorn Logistics (Jebel Ali) will be handling their complete chain of logistics activities in UAE.

This new branch office, well equipped with modern furniture, high speed internet connection, cargo software and a dedicated team of 23 employees became operational from 1st June, 2009.Strategically positioned next to the National Highway and within the proximity of the International Airport, the new Capricorn Bangalore office enjoys the advantage of location, connectivity and cost.

Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd entered into a long term strategic partnership with Idea Cellular Limited, a leading GSM mobile service operator and allied service provider in the Country. CLPL will be carrying out an array of functions including 3PL, Customs Clearance, Warehousing, Kitting, Packaging, Transportation, Distribution and Erection, Installation and Commissioning of the Site to fulfill the SCM requirements and business needs of Idea Cellular Ltd. Capricorn Logistics will be leveraging its SCM expertise to help Idea Cellular Ltd to produce value-based results and optimize operations within various parts of the country.
The contract was signed between Mr Sheetal Shetty, MD of Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd and Mr Rajesh K. Srivastava, Chief Materials & Procurement Officer of Idea Cellular Ltd.
Currently Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd has been providing customized supply chain services and logistics solutions to Idea Cellular in different regions of India- Bhiwandi(Maharashtra), Ahmedabad (Gujrat), Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Bangalore (Karnataka), Raipur (Chattishgarh), Bhubaneshwar (Orissa), Chennai and Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) and shortly in Kolkata(West Bengal). In the forthcoming days Capricorn will be also handling the SCM activities of Idea Cellular in Guwahati(Assam) and Cochin(Kerala).

| Hyundai Chooses Capricorn again for its Exports Logistics. |

| Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd recently entered into a new contract with Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea and the second largest car maker and the largest passenger car exporter in India for handling their export and customs clearance operations. HMIL markets numerous variants of passenger cars across segments and exports cars to more than ninety countries across the globe. The contract was signed in 2009 in the presence of Mr Mukundarajan GM- Traffic & Customs, HMIL, Mr. Jw Ryu, HMIL, Mr Rajagopalan Krishnan –DGM, CLPL, Mr Gopi – Branch Manager (Chennai), CLPL and others. The new Hyundai – Capricorn Alliance enabled Capricorn Logistics to ship out the brand new Hyundai i20 model cars by air to Europe and Korea, thus pioneering the air export of cars from Chennai.
However this is not the first agreement of business between Capricorn and Hyundai. The former contract was awarded to Capricorn in 2007 for their understanding of local conditions and first-rate integrated logistic services at an affordable price. | Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd recently signed a two- year contract with Allison Transmission India Private Limited, a division of Allison Transmission Inc, the premier global supplier of commercial duty fully automatic transmissions and hybrid propulsion systems to provide a whole range of logistics services under one roof. Capricorn Logistics Pvt. Ltd. will manage and provide 3PL services like warehousing, packaging, distribution, logistics and other value-added SCM solutions for the Allison facility, located north of Chennai. The contract was signed on 17th April, 09 at the Chennai Office premises of Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd in the presence of Mr. Ram S. Amarnath(MD,Allison Transmission Pvt Ltd, India), Mr Rajagopalan Krishnan (DGM-South, Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd) and others.
Allison Transmission was looking for an integrated logistics service provider with thorough knowledge of local Indian conditions and capacity to deliver high quality services to its customers. It is believed to have found this provider in Capricorn.
Speaking about the association, Mr. Ram S. Amarnath, Managing Director, Allison Transmission India Pvt. Ltd, said: "Allison Transmission acknowledges Capricorn Logistics’ understanding of local conditions and their ability to create quality infrastructure with quality manpower within a short time. We believe that Capricorn will add value to our supply chain by integrating local practices with international ones so that the process is seamless, and Allison Transmission gets the same level of competence here in India as it gets internationally”.

Middle East Updates - Capricorn sets up New Office and Warehouse in UAE. |

The year 2009 saw Capricorn soaring to heights with the setting up of two more establishments in UAE within a very short span of time. Capricorn’s first overseas
office in UAE was established in June 2003 with its headquarters in Dubai. In the year 2006(December), to strengthen its network in the Middle East, Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd
commenced operations at the Sharjah Freight Centre. While the Dubai Clock Tower office standing at the heart of Dubai City forms the hub of all sales activities, the Sharjah office caters to the Northern Emirates like Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and et al.
The third office which came up in the Jebel Ali(Free Zone) in 2007 became instrumental in providing complete logistic solutions like Air Freight, Sea Freight, Customs Brokerage, Re-Labeling and Re-Packing, 3PL, Internal Transfers,
Free Zone Transfers and Land Transportation to the Free Zone Companies. In fact, Capricorn has entered into a strategic tie-up with the local companies for providing finest 3PL services at Jebel Ali Free Zone, the Logistics hub of the Middle East.
Apart from the existing Clock Tower office at Dubai, Capricorn Logistics took up the new Mega Terminal office at Dubai Cargo Village on 26th February, 2009. The Cargo Mega Terminal is one of its kinds offering ATA Facility
(Agents Transfer Authority) to clients in Dubai Cargo Village thus enabling prompt cargo delivery.
Initially the Dubai Cargo Terminal was capable of handling over a million tones of cargo per annum. However with ever-increasing demands and growth rates escalating, additional cargo handling facility has been set up. Currently the Cargo Mega Terminal
can handle over five million tonnes of freight annually. With specialized cargo handling systems
and equipments and ATA facility the Dubai Cargo Terminal boasts of modern and integrated logistics amenities.
Capricorn’s new Warehouse in Sharjah Industrial Area became operational from 1st March, 09. With hundred and fifty pallet locations, proper inventory management capacity with professional racking system to locate the cargo and a
specialized work force, the Sharjah warehouse of CLPL offers state-of-the art warehouse operational facilities.
However Capricorn’s journey of delighting the customers doesn’t stop here! The installation of another brand new warehouse with 3PL and Consolidation facilities in the Dubai Logistics City (the world’s first integrated logistics platform) is on the cards!

| FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp.(NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s leading express transportation companies recently conferred the BRONZE KILO AWARD to Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd for being one of their greatest supporters and highest revenue generators for June 08-May 09. The Bronze Kilo Award and the Certificate was awarded by FedEx Express to Capricorn as a token of an acknowledgement and appreciation for exceeding revenue in the Freight Agents for IP Category.
The esteemed award was presented by Mr. Samuel G. Riskin, Managing Director,FedEx Express to Mr.Sheetal Shetty, Group Managing Director, Capricorn Logistics Pvt Ltd in March,09 at the Annual Customer’s Meet held at Grand Maratha Sheraton Hotel, Mumbai.
